How To Find The Perfect Condo In Pittsburgh

How To Find The Perfect Condo In Pittsburgh - Connie Wolff1

How To Find The Perfect Condo In Pittsburgh – House hunting can be such a fun process. You get to explore different areas of the city, get to know different neighborhoods, and even get decorating inspiration. When it comes to searching for a condominium, the game changes a little bit. In some cases, there are more things to consider when buying a condo or a home when there is a clubhouse or homeowners association involved.

Here are a few tips to help you find the perfect condo…

Location – This is such an important quality in a home. Not only for you, but for resale as well. You can change the decor and certain amenities in your condo, but you can not change the location. Do your research and make sure the location is not only great for you but can be great for resale as well.

Amenities – When you buy a condo, typically there are amenities and perks of living in this type of community. Know what they are before you buy. Do they take care of your lawn? Can you plant anything? The roof is leaking, who takes care of that? Know what you are paying for and what perks you get from living in that neighborhood.

Know The Restrictions – With HOA’s come restrictions. Know what your restrictions are and know what they can fine residents for.

Market Value – When searching for a condo, check with your real estate agent to see how the market value of that condo or the condo’s in that neighborhood are holding up. Has the value increased, decreased or stayed level over the past few years? What are condo’s selling for in today’s market? Educate yourself so you know what type of investment you are making.

Narrow Your Search – Depending on your market, condo’s may be selling quickly. Stay ahead of the game and other buyers by knowing what’s for sale in the neighborhoods you are looking in. Narrow down your search to the neighborhoods you want to be in and then keep your eye on prime real estate search sites like Trulia, Zillow and Realtor.com to make sure you know what’s on the market. Your real estate can help you with this as well. They can show you exactly what’s for sale in the MLS.

Searching for a condo that fits what you are looking for can be a lot of fun. Remember these tips and your search will go a lot smoother and you will have a better chance of finding the condo of your dreams! Are you currently searching for a condo?
